We hope to give children having children a New Beginning. Most of our moms are 12-18 years old. Often these mothers are orphans and have no support system. Some are in foster care and are kicked onto the street once they are have fallen pregnant or once they turn 18 years old and their foster grants ends. 90% of these young women are already HIV positive and face a hard path ahead of them.

Most of these moms want to finish their schooling and have big dreams for their future. They realise that their baby relies on them to do so. However there is no support system currently in place for them. Part of our Goldy and holistic approach is to ensure that both mom and babies needs are seen to. This home allows for mom and baby to remain together and at the same time care for both their needs. During the day the babies are cared for at our Day care and after home work is done the mother then collects their babies and spend the rest of the night with them. During exams mothers are allowed to request that her baby sleeps at the Place of Safety so that she can be fresh the next day.

The moms will receive assistance on all levels- emotional, medically, mentally, physically and spirtually. They have to attend weekly support groups and part-take in the daily chores. All moms will go through a mandatory parenting course developed by Assist as well as cooking and nutritional course, English and Maths courses, basic First Aid. All moms will be given individual guidance as to which career path they wish to follow. This will help us develop a “life plan” and ensure they right school subjects are taken and can help us find bursaries and sponsors for further studies if they are needed.

Moms taken into the home have no set limit as to the duration of their stay provided they are studying. For some, we are the only parents they have ever had. Some moms will be in our care for years. Our only requirement is that they study hard and get some form of education / qualification. Once they have received their education we will assist them in finding a job and a place of their own. We will fully kit out their homes with the basic needs. At this point they will be able to care for their baby on all levels including financially and will be strong and committed woman of God. 

This project receives no form of government assistance or funding and to help these girls we are fully reliant on the assistance of the public and business. Why not consider adopting a mom and making a difference in these childrens lives.
